These Terms and Conditions govern the offer, sale, delivery, and use of digital products provided by HardenLab.

2. Scope

These Terms and Conditions apply to the use of this website and to the ordering, delivery, and use of digital products offered by HardenLab.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, HardenLab’s offers are primarily intended for businesses, self-employed professionals, and professional users.

3. Products

HardenLab offers digital products in the area of Windows hardening and productized security configuration.

The current main product is:

  • HardenLab Local Pack

This is a digital product for small Windows environments without Active Directory. The focus is on a conservative, supportable, and clearly defined deployment scope.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, the product does not include:

  • consulting services
  • custom engineering
  • managed services
  • on-site work
  • emergency or incident response services
  • general compatibility commitments outside the documented support scope

4. Supported scope

Unless otherwise stated on the product page, the current intended scope of HardenLab Local Pack is limited in particular to:

  • Windows 11 Pro and Enterprise
  • primary target release: Windows 11 25H2
  • Windows 11 24H2 also supported
  • languages: de-DE and en-US
  • local deployment
  • environments without Active Directory

The current core scope focuses in particular on:

  • Microsoft Defender
  • Firewall
  • UAC / LSA-related settings
  • Windows Update

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, the following are outside the supported scope in particular:

  • Active Directory / domain-based GPO
  • Domain Controllers
  • RDS environments
  • Windows Home
  • Windows Server
  • Intune / MDM / Autopilot
  • centrally managed zero-touch rollout
  • Office, Microsoft 365, or Adobe hardening
  • production-critical specialty software outside the documented support scope

5. Product information, pricing, and license variants

Product descriptions, included items, supported environments, license variants, and pricing are determined by the current product page, offer page, or checkout page.

The information published at the time of purchase shall apply.

6. Contract formation

The presentation of products on this website does not by itself constitute a binding contract.

A contract is concluded when the order process has been completed successfully and the order has been accepted through the checkout or sales provider used.

The customer is responsible for reviewing the selected products, license variants, and entered information before completing the order.

7. Checkout, payment processing, and Merchant of Record

External checkout and payment providers may be used for the sale of digital products.

Where a purchase is processed through Lemon Squeezy, purchase-related payment and order processing are handled through that provider. In that case, Lemon Squeezy may act as the Merchant of Record for the transaction.

Additional terms and policies of the relevant provider may apply to checkout, payment, tax, refund, or chargeback-related processes.

8. Delivery and access

HardenLab products are delivered digitally.

Delivery may take place in particular through:

  • download link
  • email
  • checkout confirmation page
  • license or access workflow
  • time-limited download access

The customer is responsible for providing a working email address and for ensuring that emails, confirmations, and delivery notices can be received.

9. License and permitted use

Upon purchase, the customer receives a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the purchased product within the scope of the acquired license.

Unless expressly permitted in writing, the following are prohibited in particular:

  • resale
  • sublicensing
  • public redistribution
  • publication of product files
  • sharing download links or license materials with unauthorized third parties
  • use outside the purchased license scope

All rights in product files, scripts, documentation, structures, and content remain with HardenLab or the respective rights holders.

10. Customer responsibilities

The customer is responsible in particular for:

  • verifying before use that the target environment falls within the documented support scope
  • following the provided product information and documentation
  • testing where appropriate on a pilot or non-production device first
  • maintaining suitable backups, snapshots, or recovery options before applying changes
  • verifying whether the product is suitable for the customer’s own environment and business-critical applications

Operation of the customer’s own systems remains the customer’s responsibility at all times.

11. Third-party components

HardenLab products may require or interact with third-party components or tools.

Such components are subject to their own license terms and conditions. HardenLab is not responsible for the performance, availability, or terms of third-party providers.

12. Support

Support is provided only within the scope expressly communicated by HardenLab.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, support does not include in particular:

  • individual architecture consulting
  • customer-specific policy design
  • forensic analysis
  • emergency response
  • administration of customer systems
  • remediation outside the documented product and support scope

13. Updates and changes

HardenLab may further develop, revise, adapt, or change products, documentation, packaging, or delivery processes at any time.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, a purchase does not create an entitlement to indefinite future updates, upgrades, or ongoing compatibility with future platform or third-party changes.

14. No cancellation right / refunds

To the extent permitted by law and unless explicitly stated otherwise, no voluntary cancellation or return right is granted once digital delivery has taken place.

Refunds are provided only:

  • where required by mandatory law, or
  • where expressly provided by HardenLab or the relevant checkout provider in the individual case

15. Warranty disclaimer and compatibility

HardenLab products are developed with a conservative and supportable approach. However, compatibility issues, interactions, or unintended effects in specific environments cannot be fully excluded.

In particular, HardenLab does not warrant that:

  • the product will function without error in every environment
  • the product will be compatible with every hardware, software, or security solution
  • the product will guarantee a specific business, security, or regulatory outcome
  • the product will remain compatible with every current or future Microsoft or third-party change

16. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, HardenLab shall not be liable for indirect damages, consequential damages, or indirect financial losses, including in particular:

  • loss of profit
  • loss of revenue
  • loss of data
  • business interruption
  • recovery costs
  • damages resulting from incompatibilities or misconfiguration
  • third-party claims arising from the use of the product

Liability remains reserved where exclusion of liability is not permitted by law.

17. Privacy

Information about the processing of personal data is provided in the Privacy Policy on this website.

18. Changes to these Terms

HardenLab may update these Terms and Conditions at any time.

For a given purchase, the version published on the website or in connection with the order process at the time of purchase shall apply.

19. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions are governed by Swiss law, excluding conflict of laws rules.

To the extent permitted by law, the place of jurisdiction shall be the registered place of the provider in Switzerland.
